How close are the services of Järvisydän? We are part of Järvisydän Resort so all services are in walking distance. Kuru is a adults only part of Järvisydän. From Kuru main building to Järvisydän main building it is 800m. You are welcomed to use all services of the resort.

How to arrive? If you’re arriving with car you can reach our resort parking area and enter the resort by foot. If you have a lot of luggage please collect the keys and visit your villa by car.

What can I do at Kuru Resort?
There’s a wide range of seasonal activities and we encourage booking activities before arrival to ensure we can facilitate the desired activities for you. The nearby nature offers safe and relaxing exploration with Fat Bikes, skis, snowshoes or hiking. During summertime we offer sup boarding, kayaking, ringed seal safaris ja guided naturescapes. Of course there’s a number of indoor experiences from LakeSpa, DaySpa, aerial yoga to sound massages. You can find a list of the activities here.

Are pets allowed?
Even though we are very fond of pets, we don’t allow pets at Kuru Resort.

What is the minimum age for visitors? We welcome visitors over 18 years old.

Can I stay for just one night?
We offer unique experiences and want to ensure that you get to enjoy peace and quiet. We therefore recommend reservations of minimum of 2 nights.

What is included in the price?
The price includes your own private Lake Villa/ Lake suite with a luxurious breakfast. Other services depend on the holiday package you choose.

Do you charge for parking?
No, parking for our guests is free. We have electrical outlets for wintertime and two charging stations which are also free of charge.

What does the relaxation program include?
The program includes seasonal stress reducing classes such as breathwork, meditation, sound massage and slow yoga. You can also enjoy our signature “Kuru Experience” book full of ideas you can do autonomously. 

How do you ensure the peace and quiet at Kuru Resort?
Every guest can enjoy their stay in total privacy. The area is open only for customers and staff. There are no motorized vehicles in the area (except for limited maintenance use) and the lake is restricted to non-motorized use only. The environment is extremely peaceful and every guest can feel totally immersed in nature. 

Is Kuru Resort suitable for guests with moving disabilities?
We are located in the middle of untouched forest with a lot of variability of terrain. We kindly ask you to inform us with any disabilities when booking so that we can ensure accessibility to your Villa. Our transfer service can also assist you in moving about the resort area.

How are allergies or dietary restrictions taken into account?
All our menu items are lactose free and we adjust the items based on allergies and dietary restrictions. We kindly ask to be informed about any allergies or dietary restrictions when booking.

Can I book Spa treatments on location?
We kindly ask you to book any treatments in advance. This helps to ensure that you can enjoy the desired spa experience and also choose the time you want.

Does the Lake Villa have WiFi?
Each Lake Villa and the main building has a free Wifi for our guests. We strongly encourage all our guests to digital detox during their stay.

Do I need to reserve dinner in advance?
We kindly ask you to book dinner in advance for your preferred sitting. Please notice that there are several restaurants. Restaurant Solitary in Kuru main building, Kota Restaurant and Fire Kitchen in Järvisydän. In summer we also do daily dinner cruises to the archipelago.

How to arrive with a bus or train?
The nearest bus stop for busses from Savonlinna or Varkaus is about 3 kilometers from Kuru Resort. The nearest bus stop for the bus from Helsinki is called Hiismäki and it’s about 15 kilometeres from Kuru Resort. By train the nearest stations are  Savonlinna and Varkaus. We can arrange the transport to our resort from any of these locations. Please inform us about your timetable and we’ll gladly pick you from your stop.

What time can I check-in?
Check-in time for each day is 3 pm. If the Villa is cleaned earlier we can offer an earlier check-in.

How can I pay?
We accept the following payments: Mobile Pay, Visa, Mastercard and direct online bank payments. At location you can pay with cash, bank card, VisaElectron, credic cards (Visa, Mastercard, Diners, American Express, Viking).

How can I cancel or change my reservation?
