Solitary

Solitary offers dining experiences amidst the enchanting nature of Lake Saimaa, secluded from the hustle and bustle of the outside world.

Solitary offers two menu options: a 3-course and a 5-course menu, as well as an à la carte selection. The menu is not published in advance, as it changes according to the ingredients available from the network of local producers.

3-course surprise menu: 58€

5-course surprise menu: 83€

The menus are available for the entire table only. Menus can accommodate common dietary restrictions if notified in advance at hello@restaurantsolitary.com.

À la carte dishes and prices change according to seasons and ingredient availability.

Solitary is located in the main building of Kuru, approximately an 800m walk from Järvisydän. Please note that the entire Kuru area in intended for adults only – the restaurant is also only for those over 18 years old.

Kitchen open from Monday to Sunday from 5PM to 9PM (last reservations at 8.30PM).

Remi Trémouille

Head Chef and owner of Solitary Remi Trémouille has travelled the world cooking in many of the most prestige restaurants but has now returned to his home town Rantasalmi. Passion for cooking  is reflected in everything he does and that is why every detail of our restaurant is carefully considered. Remi’s cooking brings together the best flavors of Finland and the world:

The best part of running a restaurant in a small town is that we get to work closely with local stakeholders. The menu is always composed based on the available ingredients, rather than thinking about what we want to make first and then figuring out where to get it. We know where our products come from and can guarantee both freshness and quality. And the stories, lessons, and experiences we get to hear from producers provide us with incredible insights.
